DETAILS

The Barbados Institute of Architects (BIA), in partnership with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), is excited to present an insightful seminar titled: "Leveraging Transferable Skills to Address the Housing Crisis."

In this event, we will examine housing as a critical and shared challenge, drawing on the UK's experiences to inform our efforts in Barbados. Through this collaboration, we aim to explore valuable lessons from the UK's housing sector, with a focus on how architecture and design can play a transformative role in addressing the crisis.

We are honoured to have RIBA President Muyiwa Oki, who will delve into the following key topics:

  • An overview of the current housing landscape in the UK and frameworks for affordable housing solutions.

  • The RIBA's position on the housing crisis.

  • Key insights from the RIBA’s report, "Housing Matters: Twenty Ways to Solve the Housing Crisis."
